Alice, you may be very very clever, but you’re wrong. There is love in the world. So you lose.
T h e G r a n d B u d a p e s t H o t e l (dir. by Wes Anderson, 2014)"You see, there are still faint glimmers of civilization left in this barbaric slaughterhouse that was once known as humanity. Indeed that’s what we provide in our own modest, humble, insignificant… oh, fuck it."
Yuna and Kimahri’s relationship is something I would have loved to see or hear more about. There was just something sweet about Kimahri being the loyal guardian to Yuna after she lost her Father and taking her away from Bevelle.
It’s just something that I personally would love to hear more about, I know people really get into many of the other kinds of relationships, but a guardian and his summoner that doesn’t involve romance could be so damn sweet.
If they didn’t change the Summoners tradition in the story, I could have seen him becoming Yuna’s Fayth moreso than anyone else. Call it personal tastes or just that the idea that he has been protecting her since she was so young and will stay by her side until the very end makes me smile and feel sad at the same time :’D
I don’t know what I was expecting, but it wasn’t this. It’s just so pretty.
MYTHOLOGY MEME | (1/?) MYTHOLOGY MEME EXTRAS
THE BANSHEE is a female spirit in Irish mythology, usually seen as an omen of death and a messenger from the underworld. In legend, a banshee is a fairy woman who begins to wail if someone is about to die. In Scottish Gaelic mythology, she is known as the bean sìth or bean-nighe and is seen washing the bloodstained clothes or armour of those who are about to die. There are some special families who are believed to have banshees attached to them, and whose cries herald the death of a member of that family. Banshees are frequently described as dressed in white or grey, often having long, pale hair which they brush with a silver comb, a detail scholar Patricia Lysaght attributes to confusion with local mermaid myths. This comb detail is also related to the centuries-old traditional romantic Irish story that, if you ever see a comb lying on the ground in Ireland, you must never pick it up, or the banshees (or mermaids — stories vary), having placed it there to lure unsuspecting humans, will spirit such gullible humans away. Other stories portray banshees as dressed in green, red, or black with a grey cloak. (x)
